It was a good experience
My experience with American trans. Was a good one they went above their needs in helping me deal with the warranty people it took some time but in the end it all turned all great and my car is running great I would easily go back the next time I need help

Thank you American transmission in Weatherford Texas.
Took my truck there for a transmission Rebuild.was greeted by friendly staff, they also seemed confident in what they were doing.what I was looking for.. told them no rush. They fixed me right up. Well 2 week later, transmission goes completely out. Stuck on the side of the road. On the way to work.. no problem call them.. 30 minutes later tow truck came.. so back to the shop. They apologized.and got to work on it. Turns out. Mechanical failure I didn't write a review on the first time cause I wanted to give a while. I'm giving 5 stars. Cause they honerd Thier warranty and word . I would recommend Mike and Felicia. At American transmission

they zip tied my brand new radiator onto my car
these guys are a joke, not only did they zip tie my radiator on but they left bolts and nuts half way on or missing altogether. save yourself the time and find a better shop. you would think $4,000 is enough to receive good quality from these guys but apparently not.

Great service on my two classic cars
I established a relationship with Mike at American Transmission in Weatherford when they first performed a transmission repair on my ‘68 Cutlass several years back and in November 2024 I took my ‘86 Chevy C10 to have them pull the transmission to repair a leaking seal. In both instances, Mike provided me with accurate diagnosis and good estimates on cost and timeframe to repair and then lived up to his commitments. I’m very pleased with their service.

You better make sure they ar
Crooked theives had I not gotten a toll bill I never would have found out they were using my truck personally after I called Mike out on it refused to take payment from me on my truck like I did something wrong I had to call the police report my truck stolen then I was allowed to make another payment on my truck and today he's saying I have to pay in full because mike was caught driving my truck without my approval

We're sorry to see this review severely lacking detail and misrepresenting the situation. We have attempted to work with you for a year on financing the repairs needed for your vehicle and have ultimately lost money on this situation. We had to drive this car to storage in our partner shop, as it has not been paid for nor picked up. The toll price of $5.98 was paid for by our company after moving the vehicle due to failure of payment of services. We try to work with customers to finance vehicle repairs and in this situation, we were unable to receive payment.

shady “mechanics”
i took in my 2015 cadillac ats in for a gasket replacement on my turbo, new radiator and full ac job. they had my car for about 2 weeks. after the fact i knew i also needed to have a few sensors changed out but due to location it would be quite the job and they quoted me over 1k so i decided i would do it myself and during this i discovered that their “mechanics” zip tied my radiator on and never put a single screw in. (they were all left in my engine bay) my bumper was also missing bolts and the bolts holding my waste gate were left halfway out. i showed micheal the photo of the zip tie holding up my radiator and told him of my disappointment after paying 4k in good faith. he said he wanted me to be a “happy customer” and that they would like to make it right. this was a lie. they said they would call me with an update on what they could do for me, this was also a lie because i had to call them after the time/date they said they would call by had passed. i finally was able to come in and talk things over with micheal during which i requested a refund of half of the labor price of the radiator job, micheal stated that he would give me a call back by noon the next day with an answer on wether or not he was approved to do that by the owner, this did not happen. i had to call him again and during the phone call he offered me labor hours on my next visit which i declined due to the fact that all of this happened and i no longer can trust the quality of their work. i cannot express my disappointment with this shop enough. crappy communication, shady work, and terrible customer service has led to this review. i gave them over 2 weeks to make this right and avoid this terrible review which i hate to do but now i feel it is more than deserved. If you value your car save yourself the grief of dealing with these people and find a better shop.
