Lack of integrity and Transparency
I have been a loyal customer of Fitzgerald Hyundai of Rockville for the past six years, bringing my vehicle exclusively to this dealership for service. While my Hyundai was still under warranty, I repeatedly experienced an issue where my oil change light would not turn off. Each time I returned to the dealership, they simply reset it—only for the light to reappear by the time I got back to D.C.

Now that my car is out of warranty, I decided to raise the issue again with one of the service managers, Lynn Pitmon. He suggested that there could actually be a problem, which I initially found hard to believe since I had brought this up multiple times before. After paying for a detailed engine inspection, an oil leak was finally discovered.

Despite this, Criston Simons, another service manager, has refused to provide me with an explanation for Hyundai’s denial of my claim and has also refused to take responsibility for the negligence of their service team. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable.

I strongly urge anyone considering this dealership for service to look elsewhere. They may seem helpful at first, but if an issue requires them to take responsibility, they will withhold critical information. Loyalty means nothing to them, and long-term customers are not treated with the fairness or integrity they deserve.

If you have also experienced engine issues at this dealership, please reach out to me no later than Friday, March 21st, at 12 PM.

I took my car in for a routine checkup. I thought I'd wait; after 2 hrs, I was told that it needed new tires, new filters, etc. I took the shuttle home thinking I could pick up the car later that day. At 4:30, I received a call the car needed more work, and I needed to approve the cost of parts. I was busy at 4:30 and when I got back to Fitzgerald around 6, there was no one at the Hyundai service desk. I was placed on hold for what seemed an eternity. After several attempts, I was able to reach someone and could pick up my car. Since then, I have tried to contact Fitzgerald to schedule the repairs; I have been put on hold for 10-15 minutes. Today, I was on hold for 10 minutes before I being put into voice mail. That is only half of the story. I had always been able to work with Fitzgerald service until this episode; I am extremely upset over this experience. I took my car in for routine service and it has not been fixed after four days and will not be fixed until 7.

Normal maintenance
My last visit to the dealership was a little different this time. I normally use the Hyundai service side, however my technician has been moved to the Subaru service department. Mind you that not an issue. The service was as usual, my only problem is that I have requested my navigation system on BlueLink be upgraded. I been having issues and in order for it to be fixed, I have scheduled an appointment.
The system I was told by the service department would take sometime because they are really behind with some large amount of vehicles to get updates. So needless today I have schedule for a appt to leave my vehicle for this to be done. Second time I’m bringing my car in for this to get done. It was have supposed to have been repaired on my previous maintenance, but I am not sure that it was. But I still don’t really have anything badly to say. I do appreciate the service and Chris is still my go to person but he wasn’t there on my last appointment visit.

Service scheduling and process
I scheduled a regular oil change, which ultimately took more than 3.5 hours despite an estimated wait time of 1 to 1.5 hours. My appointment was at 1:00 PM, and I arrived on time at the service bay. However, I had to wait in line until approximately 1:30 PM before my vehicle was taken in for service. I was given an estimated completion time of 1 to 1.5 hours, including a car wash. When I checked back at 3:45 PM, I was informed that the car wash might take an additional 30 minutes. After waiting until around 4:20 PM, I decided to take my vehicle without the car wash.
