great car for this price point

Bought a 2021 Kona Ultimate for my daughter to replace her worn out Ford Explorer. I liked it so much, I bought a 2022 Kona Limited for myself. Perfomance is better than expected out of this little 1.6 turbo. Fuel mileage is great. Overall quality is excellent for this pricepoint.

Great value for the $. Would buy it again and would recommend to others. Everything I wanted and was looking for in a new car. Minor complaints compared to other Hyundai cars, but best of what was available.

Great reliable small SUV

I bought this for my son for college, he love it, one past, so far, very thing look great, no issue. Gas mileage is 25-30, small trunk, the 3rd day after phacharce, angine miss fire, brought to dealer, they can't find any issue, but, now one year passed, never happen again, I don't have any other issue either.

Cute and fun car to drive. Comfortable and secure. Love the extra safety features. Appreciate the extra services that are included in the purchase - up to three years maintenance! Score! Best part for me... this car was a gift from my parents!

Small but reliable (unless its about the paint)

Car runs great, the sports option gives it the accelation needed was well worth the added money. Headlights work great, clear and far reaching but yet do not interfear with oncoming traffic. Foglights not great but better than not having them as there are many foggy days. Have has issues with the lane assist sensors, in that they stop working while driving at times. they come back on either after a few minute or when the car is restarted. Paint is an issue, have a few places wheere the paint has chipped off with not noticable impact damage. Has some scratches in the roof and hood as well and only after 5000 miles. Think the scratches came from an automatic carwash, but cannot be 100% sure. Seem like the clear coat on the pait is low quaility and will likely not last.

In my opinion overall it’s a decent vehicle I purchased the SEL model in white. My complaints are the seats are manual adjust, all my SEL previous purchases were electric adjust. The seats are hard and rigid not comfortable at all for long distances and the cab noise on the highway is high which makes it difficult to hear your passengers when talking. The climate control is all analog which seems cheap in an SEL model. I would rather have less sensors and better accommodations up front.

Glad I picked a Kona!

It is hard to imagine that I could find a vehicle with more value for the money. It has performance , comfort and styling. It is a pleasure to drive and at the same time I feel very safe when I am driving it! It seems that my Kona is going to last me a lifetime but if not I can't imagine that would change to a different car!

Great overall experience

The Hyundai Kona Ultimate is by far the best vehicle I have driven to date. It is sporty, zippy, fun to drive, has a great sound system, and is really great on gas. Sometimes I forget it's only a mild hybrid. I generally average 34-36mpg on the highway going 70-75mph. It's advertised as only getting 32mpg on the highway (don't be so modest Hyundai!). I would recommend the vehicle to anyone who wishes to blend style and comfort with mobility and efficiency.

My 1st brand new vehicle

I have been very pleased with the purchase of this vehicle, everything from the purchasing process to driving it daily and on long trips. I love that I can lay my back seat down pack up for a week away, with room to spare for my furry dog to come along.

Great car

Nice and comfortable economy car with all the advanced gadgets for a reasonable price. It handles very well on the snow. Gas mileage and power could be better. I like the exterior and the interior. The dealership was very aggressive trying to sell me extended warranty even though I told them I was not interested at start. He insisted he needed to go through the process.

Love my car

My Kona replaced an Elantra which I liked a lot. I lost it in a flood so I wanted to replace it with a larger vehicle. I saw my Kona in the dealership lot and fell in love with it! It is exactly what I was looking for in a car.

I saw an add on tv and I was interested. Went to a dealership 45 miles away. They worked with for trade in allowance, features that I wanted and price as I was leasing. They worked very hard to get me into this vehicle. I love it.

Nice car that is fun to drive but feels very safe and comfortable

I like the smaller size of this car making it feel welcome on narrow streets, parking garages and other areas that have limited space. It drivers very nicely! Handles well everywhere, has good "pick up" when needed and feels lively. It is also quite comfortable to ride in.

Zippy Car

I was not a fan of the Kona's look until I saw a white Kona with the night trim at the dealership while waiting for repairs on my Veloster. It was super cute and the sales department convinced me to test drive it. I traded in the Veloster with no regrets! I have the turbo charged engine and love how it handles.

Fun to Drive and great features

I’ve enjoyed my Kona very much. It’s fun to drive, very maneuverable, comfortable and has a nice sound system. However it would benefit from increased HP/turbo during acceleration and I think the steering could be a little tighter.

Great torque

The vehicle has amazing torque at high gears, and a whole lot of pep for such a small engine. The dual clutch transmission is very nice, and gear ratios are on point. However, as early power train issues are cropping up at only a year/20k miles in. Plus a mix of trivial complaints about cracking leather on the steering wheel, a buzzy bass in the ‘premium sound system’ when combined with serious electronics issues such as the collision detection going off and slamming on the breaks at 75mph due what I think is just glare off the road; I have been pretty disappointed and dissatisfied with purchasing both the specific vehicle, trim, and Hyundai in general.

I live my Kona

My first new car and it’s been a great purchase. Great value for the money and I love the way the car looks and feels. It’s AWD which is important in New England. I have been happy with the Kona, and plan on having this car for Years to come.
